- 5 Shombo peppers or any pepper of your choice
- Mackerel
- Bonnet peppers
- Seasoning cubes
- Meat
- Fish or chicken
- Stockfish head
- Okro (medium-sized bowl or a bowlful)
- Red oil
- Ground crayfish

How To Prepare Your Ingredients
- Begin by slicing the Okro and setting it aside in a bowl. Most people do have the assistance of the local trader, who slices the Okro for them.
- Meanwhile, if you are using large peppers like shombo, remove the seeds, combine them with the scotch bonnet peppers, and blend or pound them.
- Blend or grind the crayfish as well
- Whilst you are doing that, you can proceed to parboil the meat with various spices to add taste.
Steps To Follow When Cooking Okro Soup
If your ingredients are ready to go, follow the steps highlighted below to cook your Okro soup.
Step 1
- Next, wash the fish or the chicken and begin seasoning with half a teaspoon of salt, 2 seasoning cubes, and sliced onions
- Mix it all in a pot and add water
- Leave it to boil for 10–15 minutes. Once it is done, remove the fish or chicken and leave the stock in the pot
- Next, add your stockfish to a new pot of boiling water. Cook them for about 10 minutes, until they are soft.
