Why Claim Occur
PayPal Claims are mainly based on three factors. And they include:
Item Not Received (INR): this is when a buyer claims that he or she ordered and paid for it but did not receive it. Sometimes, the buyer might receive an item “Significantly Not As Described (SNAD)” Let’s say he ordered a blue jacket but received a red one instead.
An unauthorized transaction means the buyer’s account has been compromised or even hacked. This simply means that someone else carried out a transaction using the buyer’s account without permission.
How to Escalate a PayPal Dispute to a Claim
If a dispute with a buyer is not resolvable, the need to escalate to a claim would arise. To do that just follow the steps stated below:
- First, open your PayPal Account
- Then go to the resolution center
- Click the view icon next to the dispute icon
- Click the escalate this dispute to a claim icon at the bottom of the page
- Follow the stated instructions
- And finally, click on the escalate Icon for a claim.
How Can I Respond To A PayPal Claim and Dispute?
To respond to a PayPal Claim, all you have to do is:
- Log in to your PayPal account
- Visit the resolution center
- Click the respond icon in the action column right next to the claim
- Select how you would like to respond to the claim and click continue.
After following the above steps, follow the instructions laid down. Have it at the back of your mind that once a file is uploaded you would not be able to view them again. You would just have access to just a summary of the submitted information.
PayPal Dispute and Claim
The buyer contacts the seller directly using the resolution center site to file a dispute. After this, both the seller and the buyer get to work hand in hand to find a good solution to the issue. If both of them cannot come to a conclusion on how to resolve the issue, the buyer can escalate the dispute to a claim in other to request a refund/reversal. On this note, PayPal steps in to determine how the problem would be resolved.
Chargeback: the buyer contacts his or her card issuer and requests a refund.
Bank reversal: The buyer contacts his or her bank to request for a refund.
When a buyer lays a complaint, the seller will receive an email concerning the complaint. The seller would also see the complaint in the resolution center. During this process, every sale the seller makes will be on hold. This helps the seller to fully cooperate with the Paypal agency. If the case comes out in the seller’s favor, PayPal would transfer the money back to the seller’s PayPal account.
How to File a PayPal Dispute
Filing a PayPal dispute is not that complicated, all you have to do is follow the steps I will be stating for you below:
- First, open your PayPal account
- Locate the resolution center
- Click the view icon right next to the dispute you wish to escalate
- Click escalate this dispute to a PayPal claim close to the bottom of the page
- Follow the instructions stated
- Click escalate to claim
