The Easter celebration is a big festive Season for the Christians because it is the season to celebrate the Resurrection of JESUS CHRIST. Pascha, when translated to English, is Easter it is a commemoration of the death of JESUS, and without a doubt; it is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in the Christian Dorm.

Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of JESUS CHRIST from death on the third day after He was crucified by the Roman leaders. Easter stands to be a fulfillment of the prophecy of the prosecution, death, and resurrection of our Savior. The Easter resurrection is majorly a season set apart to Honor our Jesus. Before the Easter celebration, there is usually a fasting period called the Lent. Many Churches set that period for repentance and remembrance.
Moreover, the Lent usually commences on Ash Wednesday and ends on Good Friday. Good Friday is referred to as the day JESUS CHRIST was crucified. However, the 40 days lent period was formed by Pope Gregory 1 which indicates the 40-day pattern of the Israelites. The Easter Celebration is an important celebration among the Christian and it also stands as the bedrock of the Christian faith.
Furthermore, the week before the Easter celebration is referred to as the Holy week or passion week. And this includes the Palm Sunday celebration which indicates JESUS’s entrance into Jerusalem. The Last Supper indicates the feast of the Passover JESUS had with His disciples and Good Friday, the day JESUS was crucified on the cross of Calvary.
Why do we Celebrate Easter day?
The basic reason for the big celebration as I have stated earlier is the Celebration of the Resurrection of JESUS CHRIST. Easter is a significant day and the center of the celebration is JESUS. While for non-Christians, it is a celebration of the rebirth of new hope. Easter however considers a Christian festival and the bible has in-depth details about it.

Easter celebration this year falls on the 17th of April 2022 which is on a Sunday. Meanwhile, it is worthwhile to note that Easter celebrations usually commence on the first full moon which is called the Pachschal full moon after the vernal equinox. Unlike other celebrations like Christmas, New Year, Valentine’s, and Easter don’t have a fixed date for the celebration which is why the celebration date differs.

One of the age-long traditions attached to Easter is the Easter egg. Easter eggs are used to represent life or fertility. So many religions, therefore, gifts out eggs during the spring festivals in order to celebrate the new birth. Nevertheless, for the early Christians, the egg symbolizes life. Hence, it was used to celebrate Easter in order to celebrate the resurrection of JESUS.
